Banfield Charitable Trust
Giving back. Giving support. Giving hope.
Banfield serves communities and neighborhoods like yours all across the United States. The Banfield Charitable Trust allows us to give back to those communities, large and small, in meaningful ways. The Trust's mission is to extend the Banfield vision of treating Pets like family beyond our hospital walls in the communities we serve by offering hope and support to Pets and the people and communities who love them. Perhaps no other national, non-profit organization is better suited to meet the diverse and unique challenges faced locally by Pets, families, schools, and community organizations.
GIVING BACK.
Banfield Charitable Trust Wellness Plans
Pets require preventive healthcare to stay well and generally enjoy a greater quality of life. Preventive care can head-off potential problems and avoid health issues now and as Pets age. Unfortunately, the cost of preventive care can be a burden to many loving families. The Banfield Charitable Trust donates thousands of Wellness Plans each year to help financially challenged Pet parents provide their Pets with care.
Windy and Ophelia
"I am disabled and live alone. Ophelia is my closest friend, companion and sometimes my only reason to keep living. Without the Banfield Charitable Trust Wellness Plan I would not be able to meet even her basic medical needs."
Ron & Buddy
"I am a disabled veteran living on a fixed income. Buddy is my constant companion and the only stable thing in my life. God Bless You for the Banfield Charitable Trust Wellness Plan that keeps Buddy with me."
FutureVet Grants
Teachers and youth group leaders regularly ask local veterinarians to come in and speak to their children at career fairs and other special events. While many veterinarians would love to participate, the process of preparing a presentation can be extremely time-consuming. FutureVet® provides age/grade-specific presentation kits with lesson plans and professionally prepared hand-out materials. Banfield Charitable Trust helps veterinarians offset the cost of these presentation kits allowing doctors, who may have otherwise been unable to participate, share their talent and inspiration.
GIVING HOPE.
Charity Bucks
When serious illness or injury strikes a Pet, urgent care is a necessity not a choice. But urgent care can also be expensive care. By donating funds to help offset the cost of urgent care, the Banfield Charitable Trust helps families in need provide their Pets with lifesaving care.
"There is nothing NOTHING like the satisfaction of helping a Pet get better. That wag of the tail and slurp of the tongue is magic." Dr. Pam Hale, DVM
We All Love Our Pets (WALOP)
Pet Food Distribution Program
It's long been proven that owning a Pet can increase longevity, reduce stress and vastly improve quality of life. For many seniors, Pets become sole companions that add joy to each day, ease loneliness and energize the spirit. The Banfield Charitable Trust recognizes the importance of this bond to both Pet and Pet parent and has teamed with Meals On Wheels Association of America to fund and administer Pet food distribution programs across the country. This innovative program ensures that Pets, like their homebound Pet parents, are receiving the nutrition they need.
"It is nice to have a friend stop by with a hot meal. Sometimes we feel isolated here and having that familiar face come by puts a bright spot in our day." Joe and Belle
GIVING SUPPORT.
Nonprofit Organization Grants
Communities are enhanced by the good works of the non-profit organizations who serve their citizens. For those organizations serving Pets, funding for programs is vital to promoting the Human-Pet bond, teaching children about the value of Pets in our families, or assisting veterinary students with community outreach and educational activities that demonstrate the power of Pets and People together. Each year the Banfield Charitable Trusts supports local Pet nonprofits with more than a quarter million dollars of needed program funding.
Campbell Family Scholarships
Not surprisingly, many college aged students would like to pursue a career helping Pets. Most Pet care careers require specialized education and training. For any, the cost of higher education is simply out of reach. Each year, the Banfield Charitable Trust's Campbell Family Scholarship program provides full-tuition scholarships to qualified undergraduate students pursuing careers focused on helping Pets.
"Between my current experience and my education, I'm helping more people understand the bond between Pets and humans. A big thank you to the Campbell Family Scholarship for making my goal of becoming what I like to call a 'Pet-to-human Ambassador' a reality." Jordan Theakston
